Scarlett Rain Ep
The "Scarlett Rain Ep" by London's Disgraceland, is his 2nd release on Sol Selectas, and one which takes a subtle, somewhat darker approach, at deep mid tempo music. "Dust in My Groove" opens the EP with shuffling techy beat followed by an ethereal breakdown and a immense bass drop sure tobend minds The title track "Scarlett Rain" was inspired by his daughter Scarlett, and early misty mornings along a country lane in England, with tunnels of mist soaked green trees and sun reflections causing a reddish scarlett hue across the fields. "Warehaus Soul" is a tribal groover with swirling arpeggios and lush vocals to carry you along the journey. Curses (formerly Drop the Lime) has been making serious waves with his own imprint Safer at Night, and has now re-located himself to Berlin. After a long weekend at Berghain, feeling fully inspired, Curses turned in 2 stellar versions of "Dust in My Groove". The 4am Remix is a peak time minimal techno stomper, with complex hi-hat patterns, a relentless groove, and a beautiful surprise 808 bat in the break down. And lastly his Aura Dilation remix, brings us back full circle on the journey, with an extended ambient take on the original. Already getting early support from Joyce Muniz, Clarian, Nadastrom, and Tittsworth.
