Sol Selectas is proud to present  a new 5 song EP by Spanish artists German Brigante and Yamil, inspired by the traditional Gnawa music Of Morocco, and featuring remixes from 2 of Morocco’s leading DJ / producers Amine K, and Mr ID.

Spain and Morocco are neighbors and share many similar cultural influences and musical traditions. German and Yamil’s  love for these pure and beuatiful sounds fuled the creation of this EP All 3 tracks are collaborative efforts which really display the pure essence of Gnawa music. You can envision hearing these played live in the Medina square of Marrakech, or by the fireplace on a desert dune in the Sahara.

“Kibo” features the incredible vocals and gembri playing of Mehdi Nassouli, and has a unique organic sound with lush bass lines, percussions fills and dramatic strings arrangements. The remix by Mr ID, takes the song even deeper into soulful deep house territory, a style MR ID is known for. “Basari” the title track is built on a funky bass line, analog synth stabs, tribal percussion fills, and mythical vocal chants with a transcending build up, and release.  Amine K, a long time friend of the label, adds his peak time twist to the tune, creating a dance floor filler.

The final tune “Gnawa” reinterprets a classic Berber tune with a solid mid tempo groove, deep bass, heart opening chants, and some psychedelic drum work.
